So we've survived our first two days at work and daycare. Owen seems to be adjusting fine except that they can't get him to sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time. Today he took 5 half hour naps while at daycare. I hope that sleeping gets a little easier for him. Brian was disappointed because Owen was so tired tonight that he feel asleep at 6 and only got up to feed at 9. He missed the entire Celtics game! The sweltering heat we are having might also have something to do with his fatigue. I shouldn't complain about a baby that sleeps, but it is nice to hang out with him in the evening...just the 3 of us.

Story Time
The above is my version of story time with Owen. We've been stocking up on books and reading to Owen more and more. Most of the time he's not that interested in the book, but it's never too early to read to a child, right?
This is Daddy's version of story time. It doesn't look very cozy, does it? Brian likes to hold Owen on his lap like this and Owen seems to enjoy it.Just for Owen
I had this bag made for us to use for daycare. It kind of makes me think of it as Owen's first school bag. Yeah, daycare isn't exactly school...but I'll fool myself into thinking it's a fun place for him to go and make some friends. Owen and I stopped by the daycare center today to drop off supplies and kind of go over Owen's routine. Taking him on Monday for the first time is going to be heartbreaking.Mommy's Favorite Outfit
I had to snap this silly photo of Owen in my favorite outfit. I bought it two days before he was born, thinking it would be cute for him to wear home from the hospital. What was I thinking? Of course I had no idea he would be showing up two weeks early, so it wasn't even washed and ready for the hospital bag. But it would not have mattered because he was no where near big enough to wear it at the time. He was a measly 6 lbs. 3 oz. when we left the hospital. Now, I'm guess he's around 14 pounds and this is probably the last time he'll wear it - it's looking a bit tight!Who's Owen?
Sometimes I wonder if Owen is going to be confused on what his name is. He probably hears from both me and Brian "Hey Little Man" or "You're the Cutest" or "Love you, Buddy" more often than his own name. Aunt Leslie kept calling him Mr. Owen, which I found adorable. I might have to steal that one for myself. My father is known for coming up with nicknames and I'm still waiting on him to come up one for Owen. He told me that Owen needs to do something other than eat, sleep, poop or fart before he can come up with a good nickname.
Owen is starting to coo and make his own little cute noises. I try and say Mommy to him a lot in an attempt to get him to say it. I know it's a long ways away, but it'll kill me if Brian gets him to say Daddy first!!!
Getting so BIG!
The other day we were putting away laundry in our room and Brian tucked Owen into our bed. I just can't get over how big he is getting. We can get him to smile all the time. He loves it when you stick your tongue out at him or make any kind of weird noise with your mouth. He even tries to mimic us by sticking out his own tongue. It's the cutest thing.
