Ice Cream Excursion

As a special treat, we went to Bedford Farms for some ice cream. Owen enjoyed digging into his own cup.

But even more fun was stealing Daddy's ice cream cone.

All of this topped off with getting to watch a tow truck rescue a broken down delivery truck made for a very exciting excursion for Owen.

Family Outing

With Daddy between jobs, and Mommy on maternity leave, we thought it would be a good opportunity to take the boys to the zoo. Like most 2 year olds, Owen loves all things animals. He has a stuffed tiger that he adores, so he was very excited to see the Zoo's tiger (really a mountain lion).
Owen favorite animal of the day had to be the Yak. I think he just liked saying the name Yak, because it got a lot of laughs. But then the Yak started making these snorting sounds which endeared him to Owen even more. There is nothing like a snorting Yak!

We all enjoyed a fun day at the zoo.

Early Riser

No matter what we try, Owen is just an earlier riser. We've tried going to bed later, going to bed earlier (as the books suggest), longer naps, shorter naps...nothing seems to work. He has been especially bad with all the changes that have been going on and has been waking at 5 a.m. I'm not going to lie, it has been brutal! So this is what ends up happening, he cuddles up on the couch and watches t.v. It's not the best solution in the world, but at least he and mommy/daddy get a little extra rest.

Lexington Center

The center of town is a really great place to run errands AND hang out. Owen enjoyed taking it all in, from people watching, to checking out dogs and even looking for birdies.

It was a beautiful day to walk around and explore all the great little things our town has to offer.

Owen Dunk, Grandma Dunk

Owen loves basketball, especially the nurf hoop we have hanging up. He and Grandma have spent lots of time slam dunking. Owen likes to tell you whose turn it is to shoot by handing you a ball and saying "Grandma dunk" or "Mommy dunk" or his favorite, "Owen dunk".

And the cutest part is the expression "I made it" whether it was him or someone else. (We need to work on those pronouns.)

A Family of Four

Kind of impossible to get a good family shot, but these were cute.

Couch Potatoes

Owen has a new favorite movie...Toy Story. He affectionately calls it "Buzz Year" after his favorite character Buzz Lightyear. Luck for him, there's two Toy Story movies and a third one due out this summer. These movies sure beat the puppy and truck movies that we've seen WAY too many times! Brian is all to happy to hang out on the couch and watch Buzz Year with Owen.

Cookie Making

Grandma made lots of yummy cookies during her stay with us, and Owen absolutely loved helping out. He's fond of dumping the measuring cups full of ingredients, as well as using the "mix-y," as he calls it.

Owen's Turn

Owen loves to request his turn to hold Marcus.

Not Quite on the Green

Look out Grandpa Wade, Owen will be ready to play soon!

To the Park with Grandma

Today we took Grandma Kuder to our local park. Owen was happy to be chased around by Grandma.

Owen loves slides, but the ones at this park are especially big and intimating for a small guy. He gets cold feet sometimes, so we have to coax him down...which he ends up enjoying in the end!

Owen is becoming quite the dare devil in the climbing sense. Grandma and I were shocked when he successfully made it up this "rock wall" climber. And of course he had to go back for more!

Happy Easter

Owen woke up this morning to a pile of goodies from the Easter Bunny. Daddy enjoyed playing with the new toys as well.

Owen had a great time hunting for eggs in the back yard.

Finding the eggs was all the fun he needed... he wasn't even interested in the candy inside.

All the excitement wore Owen out!

We had a nice dinner together, complete with the fancy Easter Cake that grandma bought.

Big Helper

Owen is very good about pitching in to help with things. He's great about throwing away trash, picking up toys, and even helping with some yard work. I hope he's always such an agreeable little helper!

Holding the Baby

We finally got Owen to slow down long enough to hold his baby brother, Marcus. The lack of cloths on him is due to all the outside, dirty playing he's been up to. But he was so precious holding his little brother. So gentile and caring.

Sticker Boy

Owen loves stickers...especially sticking them on himself!

Trip to the Park

We decided to take a walk to a local park because it was such a nice day outside. Since Marcus was getting wheeled around, Owen wanted the same thing. This is fairly unusual for Owen, because we always have a hard time getting him to sit in his stroller. Seems like a case of "I want what he has" because Owen actually climbed into the stroller himself!

At the park, we ran into Owen's daycare friend, Jackson. They are like two peas in a pod...pushing the dump trucks all over the place!
