Halloween Night

We had wonderful warm weather, so Owen might have been a little hot in his Pooh costume. But that didn't stop him from being so darn cute!

We took him to say "hi" to some of our neighbors, but Owen didn't really get the whole candy thing. He wouldn't even take it! Yeah for Mommy and Daddy that he doesn't even know what candy is YET!

We get tons of trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, and this year was no exception. There is just something so fun and magical to watch kids delight in picking out their candy. We spent most of the evening sitting on our front porch since the stream of kids was pretty constant.

By the end of the night Owen seemed to catch on that whatever was in our big bowl was something that other kids wanted. He decided that he needed to grab his own handfuls. It was the cutest thing the way he'd hold on to his goodies, then later put them back in the bowl and grab two different handfuls.

Pumpkin Carving

We did not get around to carving our pumpkins until the afternoon of Halloween. We set up camp in the dining room and dug in. Owen was super curious at what we were up to, and was eager to join in on the fun.

the next group of photos is Owen discovering the gook inside a pumpkin. Priceless!

Brian and I always seem to do pretty elaborate pumpkin carving and this year was no exception. Brian always claims to have the best pumpkin, but the Elmo one that we both worked on for Owen turned out pretty cool.

Owen was totally into all the Halloween traditions right down to the lighting of the jack-o-lanterns.

A little family shot...

Hide-n-Seek

Owen figured out how to climb into our bathroom vanity cabinet. I thought he'd be scared to be shut into a dark place, but he actually loved it. He laughs if I start shouting, "Where's Owen?" He can't seem to get enough of closing himself in and popping out.

Shelburne Farm in Stow, Massachusetts

We had a beautiful day to go apple and pumpkin picking with Aunt Cat. There was so much fun stuff to do that I couldn't pick out just one or two photos to post. So our day went something like this:
Tractor rides - which we all know Owen absolutely loves. Tractors are such a big hit with him right now, that we weren't sure he would ever want to leave this play area.

Aunt Cat had to join in...but she was no match for Owen.

Daddy had bought an apple doughnut, then had to go back and buy six more because they were so good. Yes, you read that right SIX more. Owen enjoyed them too.

Then we went to pick some apples. Aunt Cat immediately found one that she claimed looked like a butt. Of course she had to keep it!

Owen couldn't make up his mind which he wanted to eat more...an apple or doughnut!

We all enjoyed hunting for the best looking apples to take home and make apple crisp.

Aren't my boys just the cutest?

Then it was time to pick out a pumpkin. This was kind of a fake pumpkin patch, but there were lots of good pumpkins to choose from.

This one was perfect for Owen!

Our last stop was the haystack, where we had fun climbing to the top. It was a wonderful day!

Dancing Tigger

Aunt Cat needed to see Owen dressed for Halloween, so we got him to put on the Tigger costume. It was made even more fun when Owen started to dance to his new favorite song...Boom, Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas. Dancing Tigger was so adorable.

Mommy's B-day

Aunt Cat made mommy some yummy b-day cookies, and Owen was all to happy to help her eat them!

First Haircut (sort of)

Owen's hair has been slow to grow in, to say the least. I kind of joke about it a lot, but honestly it has kept him so cute and boyish to have such little hair. I guess there is something grown up about having a full head of hair. But things were growing in a bit clumpy on the very top of his head and the hair growing down the back of his neck was going to look like a mullet soon.

There were a lot of tears and laughing as we attempted to give Owen a little trim. The hair clippers were not very exciting for him...
until we let him try them out for himself!
It probably wasn't the best haircut in the world, but it looks a little better!

Mall Entertainment

The weather outside has been terrible, and Owen needed to get out of the house. What are parents suppose to do? Take him to the mall! There is a good one for kids just over the border in New Hampshire, so we had fun checking everything out with Owen. With an indoor playground, pet store, carousel and coin operated cars, there was lots to do with a curious toddler.

Growing Boy

It seems like just yesterday that we had to buy Owen new shoes...then I noticed that he was getting a callus on his big toe, so I wondered if his shoes were too small. We went to get his feet measured, and sure enough he had grown a whole size bigger. Looking at this picture makes me think that he's growing into this little man. When did that happen?

19 Months

Those cheeks, that smile, his total cuteness. Does it get any better?

19 Month Milestones:
  • Back to using sign language for "more".
  • Every animal is a puppy.
  • Loves dancing.
  • Has gotten into watching/mimicking us and other children
  • Knows how to id several body parts...head, nose, ears, mouth, tummy and feet
  • Eating great with a spoon and fork.
  • Throws a ball really well overhand with good aim.
  • Opens and closes doors.

Drumlin Farm

We took Owen to Drumlin Farm along with Grandma and Grandpa Kuder, and everyone had a great time. There were so many farm animals to check out, and Owen has really been into animals lately. The newborn pigs seemed to be a favorite of Owen's.

Owen loves all things tractors, so checking out this old, rusty one was a thrill.

A fun ride in a horse saddle.

And then there was the hayride. As we were walking around the farm, we could see the hayrides driving around. Owen would stop what he was doing to watch the tractor drive by. So when it was time for our ride, Owen got in his serious mode and watched the tractor drive us the whole time. The kid definitely has a one track mind!

Balloon Fun

He's trying hard to bust it, but it just won't happen!

Grandma & Grandpa Kuder Visit

Owen's grandparents are here for a visit. He took Grandma outside to show her how to pick up sticks around the house.
And he had to read his puppy book with Grandpa.

Owen is getting better and better at repeating words...so we tried hard to get him to say Grandma (maw-maw) and Grandpa (ra-puh).

My Red Sox Boys

The Red Sox are playing their first playoff game tonight, so Daddy had to make sure he and Owen were dressed for the occasion. He keeps asking Owen if he is going to stay up for the game. Um, I don't think so considering it's on the west coast and starts at like 9:30 pm!!!

Fire Truck Day

Daddy took Owen to the fire station open house. All they came back with is this photo of Owen driving the fire engine. Trucks are super exciting for Owen right now, so I bet this was a huge hit.
